“Sometimes the smallest souls leave the biggest pawprints.”
In the summer of 2015, two tiny black kittens came into my life—and they never let go.
I didn't plan for them. I didn't go looking. They were just *there*, needing someone, needing *me*.
They were barely hanging on... eyes sealed shut with infection, barely a mewl to be heard.
I wrapped them in towels, warmed them against my chest, and whispered promises I wasn’t sure I could keep.
“You’re safe now,” I said. “We’re gonna get through this.”
And we did.
These two became my heart. My strength. My reason to keep going through some of the hardest years of my life.
I call them The Seesters—Big Seester and Little Seester. Sisters in spirit and survivors both.
This is their story.
Born with nothing but each other Wrapped in hope, held in love.Safe and warm This might’ve been their first real nap without fear.First moments Both eyes sealed shut, still fighting to live. The other side of the fight Swollen closed but never beaten.Big Seester with her tiny bottle —she latched on like a pro from the start!Little Seester, eyes sealed shut and barely hanging on —but she was already a fighter.June 7, 2015 — Already thick as thieves (even if one’s clearly got the jumpstart)Tired babies after a big day of growin’ and snugglin' One yawn away from dreamlandSafe, warm, and wrapped in love Just two tiny babes with full bellies and big dreams.Seesters from the start —side by side, heart to heart.Tiny paws, big appetites!Tiniest bundle, bravest heart—bath time for a baby Seester.Found my new favorite toy—don’t even think about taking it!Where one goes, the other follows—sisters, always.Best friends since the very beginning
The Seesters’ story is proof that family isn’t just who you’re born to, but who stands by you, shares your plate, and curls up with you at the end of a long day. Their journey reminds us that even the tiniest hearts can fill a home with courage, hope, and love that never lets go.
